" How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

-Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne

Dear Families,

Considering this is my last newsletter here at St. Rose School, when I came across this quote, I knew it was the one I wanted to use.  As the year winds down, and as I look back on my last three years here, I am so very grateful to each and every one of you for trusting us with your children and for being our partners in your children’s education.  Goodbyes are never easy, but this one is especially difficult for me because St. Rose is the place where I learned how to be a principal.  No matter how many schools I work at during the rest of my career, this will always be my first, and I will always carry with me the lessons that I have learned here.  Your children are amazing.  They are precious human beings.  I have no doubt that they will make the world a better place.   Thank you for the sacrifices you make to send them to St. Rose.  I promise you – it is worth every penny and more!  May God bless you always.  Please read on:

Thank you and Welcome:  On Monday, June 17 we say thank you and farewell to Father John Mulloy, who has been with us since December.  We are so grateful to him for his dedication to our school, and will miss him very much!  We will also welcome Father Hilario Sanez, who will be our new parish administrator.  He comes originally from the Philippines, but most recently has been serving in Poland.  Please stop by the rectory and introduce yourself when you have a chance over the summer!

Lunches:  Please see attached letter to order the school lunch for your child for the week of June 17-19.

Re-registration:  Registration is now on a first come-first served basis.  You are ONLY guaranteed a seat for your child if you have paid the $200 registration fee!  Please note: in order for your registration to be complete, you must sign the Family Commitment form and submit it to the office.  You also must be caught up on this year’s tuition payments before you can re-register for next year.

Book/Gym/Computer Fees:  Just a reminder that all book/gym/computer fees must be paid before the last day of school (June 19).  Thank you to those of you who have already paid the $350.

Summer Homework:  Pray, play, and read!  Try to spend as much time together as a family as possible.  Enjoy the slower pace.  Students will receive a math packet and summer reading work in their final report card.  Please make sure that they do these things to maintain their skills for the fall!

Not returning?:  If for some reason your child will not be returning to St. Rose next year, it is important that we have a record of this.  Please stop by the office to complete an exit form as soon as possible.  This will also help us with planning for next year.  Thank you.

Mark Your Calendar:

June 14 – K0/K1/K2 Moving On Ceremonies and last day of school (K0/K1 @ 9am; K2 @ 10am)

June 19 – Last Day of School for Grades 1-7; 11:30 dismissal

Blessings,

Caitlin Keeton, Principal
